Sustainability
We believe sustainability is more than just promoting a buzzword. It is a way of life, a platform on which decisions are based for the future of not only our country, but for our global neighbors as well. It is an understanding of where we are today overlaid with where we want to go. It is formulating an actionable plan acceptable to diverse groups for the betterment of all groups.
We believe we can coexist with environmental solutions while providing for the energy needs of the 21st century. It will take ingenuity while depending on traditional values. It will take dedication while being open to innovation. It will take being mindful of the risks while having the courage to discover.
It will require substantial funding while exercising discipline, transparency, and accountability. And, it will demand that each of us fulfill our individual obligation while working together with passion, foresight, and sacrifice for a common goal.
It will take compromise while honoring another’s viewpoint. It will take acknowledging the challenges while recognizing the rewards. It will take vision while remaining realistic.
It will take governments, communities, and businesses working side by side while maintaining individual passions.
It will take policies, programs, and procedures while never losing sight of personhood.
Too often when we hear the word “sustainability” we think either/or, when in reality sustainability is meeting needs today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs tomorrow.
With this definition, it is clear that a well-orchestrated vision is more prudent than casting off currently implemented operational processes altogether... especially ones that have been proven by the test of time.
Community Involvement
One of the greatest privileges of being in business is to have the resources to help people in communities where we operate. Our priority is to improve the lives of community members, meet unexpected needs, and strengthen our support for those we have come to care about. As we interact one-on-one with dedicated, hardworking individuals, families, and organizations we are reminded of how wonderful each community is and how grateful we are that they are part of our lives.
This holiday season we are pleased to team up with several local NE Oklahoma non-profits who are very active in providing opportunities for youth. Guiding our youth into maturity is no small task and we celebrate the dedicated staff, volunteers, and parents working tirelessly with these organizations.
Our passionate desire for community involvement, engagement, and connection emphasizes the value we place on people – our workers, contractors, community members, vendors, and government officials. United Energy’s company culture of embracing the greater good and helping to change lives for the better is something we take seriously and try to implement while living by our core values.
Thinking ahead to 2022, the initiatives we have planned focus on the people who live and work in the regions where United Energy’s continued commitment will positively impact those who have become part of our lives. In collaboration with those we serve, we trust the year ahead will be the best one yet!
